Thetis Key PIN Requirements and PinPlex Rules

Welcome to the Thetis Key PIN setup guide. To ensure the security of your device, please review the following PIN requirements specific to your Thetis Key model.

Attention Users:

  • Regular Thetis Key
    • Minimum PIN Length: 4 digits
  • Thetis Key Pro Series
    • Minimum PIN Length: 6 digits
  • Thetis Key with PinPlex Option
    • Please adhere to the PinPlex rules outlined below.

PinPlex PIN Rules

For Thetis Keys featuring the PinPlex option, enhanced security measures are in place. Please follow these specific guidelines when creating your PIN.

Numeric-Only PIN Rules

  1. Minimum Length

    • Your PIN must be at least 6 digits long. You may increase the length using additional security tools, but it cannot be shorter than 6 digits.

  2. Prohibited Patterns

    • Sequential Numbers: PINs with numbers in ascending or descending order are not allowed (e.g., 123456 or 654321).
    • Repeated Digits: PINs with the same digit repeated in all positions, such as 111111, are not permitted.
    • Mirror or Palindromic Numbers: Numbers that read the same forwards and backwards, like 321123 or 69233296, are not allowed.

  3. Limit on Repeated Digits

    • No more than 3 repeating digits are allowed in any 6-digit PIN. For example, PINs like 111123 or 990000 are invalid.

Alphanumeric PIN Rules

  1. Minimum Length

    • Alphanumeric PINs must be at least 6 characters long.

  2. Exemption from Numeric PIN Patterns

    • Alphanumeric PINs do not need to follow the pattern restrictions applied to numeric-only PINs.
