Prerequisites

Before setting up your fido2 security key for TOTP, make sure you have completed the following steps:

Initial Setup with Thetis Manager Software:

Download and install the Thetis Manager software from the Thetis Downloads Page.
Follow the Thetis FIDO2 Key First Setup Guide to set up your key, including PIN configuration and testing.

Step-by-Step Guide for PC and Mac

Here's an example of how to enter data for Google Authenticator during TOTP setup:

Go to your Google Account security settings.
Select "Set up authenticator app".
When you see the QR code, click "Can’t scan it?" to manually get the key.
Save the key information for later use in Thetis Manager:

Issuer: Google
Account Name: user@example.com
Secret Key: 3z5w7d5tcxqjdfxamwj5jxqptb6rusio

Setting Up Your Thetis FIDO2 Key for TOTP

Thetis Key Models:

PIN Setup:

NFC Support:

Models such as the FIDO2 BLE Key and Pro FIDO2 Key support NFC for mobile authentication.

Step 1: Launch Thetis Manager

Open Thetis Manager on your PC or Mac. Ensure the software is up and running.

Step 2: Connect Your Thetis Key

Insert your Thetis Key into your computer’s USB port. The device will be recognized by Thetis Manager.

Step 3: Set Up TOTP

In Thetis Manager, click the "OTP" tab.
Click the "+" button to add a new TOTP setting.
Fill out the fields:
- Issuer: e.g., Google
- Account Name: e.g., user@example.com
- Secret Key: Use the key provided during Google setup.
- Require Touch: Enable this option for added security.
- Type: Ensure ‘TOTP’ is selected.
- Leave Algorithm, Period, and Digits to default settings unless instructed otherwise by the service.
Click "Add" to save the new TOTP configuration.
